Rwandan income tax law contains vague provisions, more especially on allowable deductions for the purposes of corporate tax computation. Due to its vagueness, it will require the expertise of a tax lawyer who will offer appropriate interpretation and guide the client on those vague tax law provisions.

Rwandan has competition and consumer law. However, its enforcement remains a challenge due to lack of awareness and capacity issues. This is explained by the fact that there is no national competition authority responsible for the enforcement of the law. An investor needs assurance that his/her investment will be protected from unfair competition, especially in cases of counterfeit trademarked products which infringe either the investor’s invention or product brand.
